AQIA PROJECT HIGHLIGHT – SCHOOL TO WORK TRANSITIONS (SWIM TEACHER) – LOGAN AND CABOOLTURE

The School to Work Transitions (S2WT) program is a Queensland Government program that will deliver $3 million over 3 years to support school students who are at risk of not transitioning successfully from school to further education, training or employment, by providing tailored solutions to improve post-school outcomes.  The S2WT program has been implemented as part of the school-to-work transitions focus area of the Good people. Good jobs: Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022–2032.

In 2023 AQIA will be delivering a School To Work Transition (S2WT) project in the Logan and Caboolture areas.  AQIA has partnered with AUSTSWIM as the RTO to provide swim teacher training to students in years 10-12.  Upon completion students can gain casual employment (whilst they are at school) as learn to swim teachers at local pools and aquatic centres.  They can continue this employment post-school.  This project will also provide CPR training and assist the students in obtaining a Blue card.  If you would like more information about this project, or have a student who attends a high school in the Logan or Caboolture areas and is interested in this program, contact us at admin@aqia.org.au
