As the Vocational Education and Training Industry Advisory Organisation for the fitness, sport and recreation industry in Queensland, we work closely with industry and government on a range of skills and training matters, and provide industry intelligence and training advice to government, including:
- Identification of emerging labour and skills needs
- Areas of occupational skills shortages
- Labour market issues
- Skills investment advice
- Apprenticeships and traineeships
- Industry consultation
Advocate on behalf of industry to all levels of government
AQIA aims to provide a unified voice for the collective interests of the Queensland’s fitness, sport and recreation sectors in relation to skills and training issues in relevant policy making processes. In close consultation with our industry partners, we prepare and present submissions on behalf of the industry.

Assistance and Support for Organisations and Clubs
We aim to make it easier to run local fitness, sport and recreation organisations and clubs. Active Queenslanders Industry Alliance provides free one-on-one advice on how to apply for and win grants, free access to club management templates and tools, fact sheets, videos, legal information, advice on staffing and volunteer matters and subsidised Strategic and Business Planning audits and workshops.
