PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS
This year’s TUH Health Fund School Sport Symposium will have two professional development workshops, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

WORKSHOP 1 – HIGH PERFORMANCEÂ
Presented by: Michelle Mitchell, QAS Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement Lead – Drive High Performance Through Values-Based Coaching
Values Based Coaching – helping students and coaches connect with what matters in order to thrive. Encourage individuals to embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them. Understanding who you are and connecting with what’s important and aligning with your values.

WORKSHOP 2 – DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
Presented by: Kirstine Hand – True Relationships and Reproductive Health – Project Coordinator – Capability, Confidence and Diversity InitiativeÂ
The focus of this workshop will be on covering a basic introduction to LGBTIQ+ (sex, gender, sexuality), and then focusing on inclusion in sport. We’ll look at some of the data which shows current lower engagement in sport for LGBTIQ+ young people, risk factors (for discrimination/social-emotional wellbeing/health outcomes), strategies for inclusion/creating safety and some resources/suggestions for next steps.
WORKSHOP 3: ATHLETE WELLBEING

A workshop to help your students and staff be well, connected, resilient and happy with APP based learning and habit building.
